This course is designed to provide participants with the concepts and skills necessary to certify as a Personal Protection Officer in the State of Texas. This course covers all requisite information of the Texas Private Security Bureau approved curriculum, as well as experience-based concepts and practices. This course includes a table of fire for record with an individual duty pistol.
Prerequisites:
Current TX DPS PSB Non-Commissioned Security Officer certification (Level III).
Description:
This course provides participants with a thorough introduction into the planning, resourcing, and operations of a Personal Protection Officer. This course combines classroom discussion with heavy practical exercises to develop the thought process and skills necessary to function as a successful PPO. Topics covered include reconnaissance, surveillance/countersurveillance, client assessments, reporting, dossier development, threat assessments, defensive tactics, and best practices. Participants must complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam, as well as an individual pistol qualification table.
Audience:
Personal Protection Officers throughout the State of Texas; Any Commissioned Armed Security Officer wishing to pursue Personal Protection Officer certification.
