This course is designed to provide participants with the basic concepts and skills necessary to certify as a Commissioned Armed Security Officer in the State of Texas. This course covers all requisite information of the Texas Private Security Bureau approved curriculum, as well as experience-based concepts and practices.

Prerequisites:
Current TX DPS PSB Non-Commissioned Security Officer certification (Level III).

Description:
This course delivers a curriculum covering legal considerations for private security officers, conflict resolution, defensive tactics, Use of Force, report writing, crime scene management and evidence, handcuffing techniques, intermediate weapons, and firearms. Participants must complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam, as well as an individual pistol qualification table.

Audience:
Commissioned Armed Security Officers throughout the State of Texas; Any individual wishing to pursue Commissioned Armed Officer certification.

Learning Outcomes:
Individuals will gain the knowledge required to successfully complete the testing requirements for this TX DPS PSB level of certification.

Length in Hours:
Minimum of 45 classroom hours, with additional range time.
